Brooke began teaching jive and swing in Chichester in 2001, and has been the driving force behind The Swing Dance Company since joining forces with Claire 18 months later. Having never danced before, Brooke was dragged along to a jive class in the midlands at the age of 21 by his sister and several of her friends.
After a short period of acclimitisation, Brooke became a huge fan of this style of dance. Not only was it a great outlet for exercise and socialising, but Brooke has always been a massive fan of swing, rhythm'n'blues and rock'n'roll music. Since moving to the South Coast in 1998, Brooke found the local scene lacking in the swing style so set about making amends!
Since the Swing Dance Company began, Brooke was the original teacher at many venues, including; Chichester, Bognor Regis, Rowlands Castle, Petersfield, Fareham, Gosport and Southsea. Having spent several years teaching full-time, Brooke has recently reduced his teaching commitments to focus on other areas of The Swing Dance Company such as helping develop new teachers. |
