1940s Night Featuring The Hep Chaps!

Making their first appearance in Farnham on Saturday 20th February are the sensational dance swing band, The Hep Chaps. Specialising in 1940s music, these ‘chaps’ are sure to provide a toe tapping headline act for a unique 1940s inspired evening of fun, music and dancing with guest DJs, at the famed Farnham Maltings.

Mingling well-known swing tunes from the 40s & 50s with their own punchy originals in the same classic style, The Hep Chaps have been named as one of the most fun & accessible dance bands around. They are sure to provide two fantastic music sets to dance to.

The group were founded by the charismatic John Wallace and David Howarth, who met while performing in the west end. They were soon joined by an array of other multi-talented musicians, forming a band with an impressive musical track record. Wallace has played with big names such as JoBoxers, The Big Town Playboys, James Taylor Quartet, Little Willy Little Field and Robert Plant.

Special guest DJ’s Big Verne, Bic and Tony Perry will also be providing more great swinging tunes and will be playing an eclectic mix of 1940s classics. There will also be our usual fun warm up dance class and a fully licensed bar.

The beautiful and spacious dance floor at the Farnham Maltings will be adorned with 1940s memorabilia and the theme will run throughout the night. Picture a room filled with landgirls, GIs, nurses and even the odd evacuee. It will be sure to take you back into that unforgettable era! The venue is easily accessible from the M3 and M25 and has a big carpark.

Transport yourself into the forties and swing in style with the Hep Chaps. The evening runs from 7.30- 11.30pm. Help us to create the atmosphere by dressing accordingly!

Hi Amy
Just wondering if it's ok to wear 1940's gangster's clothes...i.e. trilby hat & white braces!
Thanks Steve
